CFPA Programs

CANNING COMMUNITIES

Through hands-on canning events CFPA reaches out to individuals and groups seeking to have fun while sustaining the local food system. This program encompasses the following activities:

PRESERVIN’ FOR THE HUNGRY: Gives back to the those less fortunate through making applesauce and jams for food banks, feeding ministries, and community meals.

PRESERVIN’ TO PREPARE: Providing resources and information to enable individuals, families and collectives to increase their preparedness for crisis, and disasters both natural and man-made.

VIRTUAL CANNING PARTIES: Created in collaboration with Pt. Defiance - Ruston Senior Center, a series of video canning demonstrations and information sharing.

SOCIAL MEDIA: A targeted campaign of social media posts using facebook and You Tube to promote basic canning techniques, information and recipes, as well as pointing to other community resources making similar information accessible to the public.
